NOTES:

Golden Temple- Kinkakuji, famous golden plated temple which was a summer house for a former emperor.

Fushimi Inari- Tori-gated mountain with a shrine housing the God, Inari.

Yoshi Itadakimasu- "all right, let's eat" said before every meal as tradition.

Doa ga Shimarimasu- "watch while the door closes", a common phrase heard on the subway trains, the common transportation in Kyoto.

Kamogawa- famous river that runs through Kyoto, known as the lifeblood of Kyoto.

Sakura- cherry blossom trees, bright pink that engorge the area with beauty and lush.

Chrysanthemum- a common flower seen in Japanese gardens, the symbol of the autumn season.

Mallards- common birds that chirp early in the morning.

Stormy Mountain- known as Arashiyama, a bamboo grove that sits alongside a temple, and is surrounding by the Oi River. Monkey quarters are just a 20 minute hike up the mountain.

Karmic Cycle- Buddhist belief in the cycle of karma, birth and death.

Cicadas- an insect that is believed to make a definite sound when death is certainly near in the future.

Land of the Rising Sun- Japan, as its known for a quick uprising of spirit, and literally means the "suns origin" in correspondence to its neighbouring countries perspective, China.
